Online Poker is Still Legal in the U.S.
Recently the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) was passed by the Congress. It was attached to a bill aiming to tighten port security (HR4954). Even though the bill won't be implemented for another eight months it has already had some effect, but does the new law really change that much? Let us take a closer look.
The UIGEA was passed September 30th. As a direct effect of the passing of the new law some poker rooms decided to suspend American players. But the ironic thing is that the new law does not change the legal status of online poker in the USA. Read More
